Career Highlights
2017 was the year where everything started to change and the dream started to become a reality. Sasha and Smarty entered for their first 2*L at Brand Hall in the Junior championships. Everything came together and they won, becoming the 2017 Junior Champions. From this point onwards it was a whirlwind education on becoming a ‘team rider’ as Sasha and Smarty were selected for the Junior European Championships. The Europeans are an experience like no other and a career highlight.
In September 2017 Caroline Moore called saying she had found Sasha’s next horse. Again, she was in no position to be taking on a new horse as Sasha was beginning her A level year however after getting it so right with Smarty she heading off after school for a 9pm viewing at Vale View of Woodlands Be Daring.
2018 was the year of A levels, leaving school, another European Championship and a team Silver medal. Sasha continued to build her string of horses, she deferred her place at Bristol Uni and began to make a business plan so that she could continue riding.
2019 was a challenging year for Sasha, it was the year she learnt how important resilience is. After a brilliant start to the year, including basing herself with Austin O’Connor, in May she fell very ill with Pneumonia and Sepsis. The goal was to compete Smarty at Blenheim 4* before his age started catching up to him so the focus was to recover in time for that. Sasha managed to recover from her illness, get her entry in but 4 weeks before Smarty came out the stable not quite right. She soon discovered he had picked up an injury and would be out for the year.
